What to back up on your computer

We have talked about backups before on this Blog but how to backup and what to backup are two completely seperate things.  Here is a list of what you should back up in XP, Vista and Win 7:

The following folders should be backed up in XP:
My Documents, Desktop, Application Data, Favorites, Local Settings/Application Data

The following folders should be backed up in Vista and Win 7:
Documents, Pictures, Desktop, Music, Contacts, Videos, AppData and Favorites

App Data and Application Data are hidden files so you will need to go to your folder options and check "Show hidden files, folders and drives"

Back up these folders and if your computer crashes it won't be a disaster just an inconvenience
