Had a great BNI meeting today (Inner Harbour Chapter) and i talked about surge protectors for your computers. Now I am sure most of you have a surge protector connecting all your cables to the wall plug...right? If you don't you should get one as the damage that can occur to your electronics is massive if you don't have one. A couple things to keep in mind for those of you needing to get one...first ensure it is a surge protector not just a power bar..surge protectors protect against power surges and power bars just increase the amount of plugs you have..you can tell a surge protector by a reset switch on it...
Secondly you have to not only surge protect your power cables but any cable going to your computer and that includes telephone and cable wires. They can carry a surge during a storm just like a power cable...haaa thought this blog wasn't for you eh....well 90% of people don't have these type of surge protectors and i get a lot of blown equipment due to surges coming into my shop...something to think about
